A Sangerstevne
is a non-competitive choral festival for all choirs, large or small,
sacred or secular.
Participating choirs. present a
20 minute programme of their own choice before an audience of fellow
choral singers, and members of the general public.
(Please bear in mind that each 20 minutes includes getting on and
off the performance area and any announcements you may wish to make.)
Choirs which wish to perform for more than 20 minutes may register
for two slots, which should be in two different sessions.
All singers are invited to participate in a couple of simple Festival
Pieces at the end of each session.
Choirs will also have the opportunity
to distribute their own publicity material.
The sangerstevne concept has been
borrowed from Norway, where sangerstevner are a big part of the
choral calendar and are held at district, regional and national
levels.
The first UK Sangerstevne was organised in East London in 2004 and
lasted for just a few hours. The London Sangerstevne
is now a weekend event and, for 2014, thirty three choirs participated
in nine concerts across the weekend.

(Sandy) will be held on Saturday
18 October 2014, during the afternoon. There will be two
or three sessions (depending on the number of participating choirs
during the time span of
1.30pm - 6.30pm
During all sessions and the intervals, there will be running light

If possible, please remain for
all of the session you sing in (the other choirs need an audience,
